Community-Based Water Supply Management
Water supply in India is now recognized as a community-based, demand-driven system. This approach emphasizes the importance of enhancing the capacity of local communities in villages and small towns to develop, manage, and maintain their own water supply systems.

To support this, we have developed a training course series aimed at strengthening the ability of community groups to efficiently operate and maintain water and sanitation systems.
Water Supply & Distribution System
Our process includes a structured water supply model that varies based on local water availability:
💧 Fixed Supply Model: Water is supplied to the entire village/town for fixed hours daily.
💧 Zonal Supply Model: Water is distributed in different zones, each receiving supply at scheduled times.
In areas with low water availability, communities tend to store excess water, leading to faster pipeline corrosion due to repeated wetting and drying. To address this, our approach includes preventive maintenance measures to ensure durability.

✔️ Main Pipelines – Connects primary water sources to secondary storage
✔️ Sub-Main Pipes – Distributes water from main pipelines to smaller areas
✔️ Service/Branch Pipes – Connects sub-main pipes to individual households
✔️ Underground Distribution Lines – Installed 1-3 meters below ground for protection
✔️ Control Valves – Regulate water flow and prevent wastage
